John Purfield

John Purfield is a Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Colorado Denver, where he teaches English composition with a focus on ecology, social justice, and their intersection. He also instructs courses in business writing and writing in the sciences.

His research explores rhetorics of the Anthropocene and composition pedagogy, aiming to analyze how writing can empower agency in understanding humanity's impact on the planet. He holds office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-1:30 PM by appointment, and can be contacted via email at john.purfield@ucdenver.edu.
