John Protzko is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychological Science at Central Connecticut State University. As Director of the Assumption Lab, his research investigates causal assumptions in prejudice, intelligence and decision-making, and metascience (the study of how science is conducted). He actively mentors students through research assistantships and teaches undergraduate and graduate courses including Research Methods, Social Psychology, and History & Systems of Psychology.
Research Interests
His work spans three major areas:
- Prejudice: Examining how assumptions about group differences influence social perception
- Intelligence/Decision Making: Studying cognitive development and mechanisms of decision-making
- Metascience: Investigating methodological issues in psychological research, including measurement invariance and volunteer bias
