John Price is Senior Lecturer in Journalism at the University of Sunderland and Programme Leader for MA Journalism. His research examines journalism and diversity, sports journalism discrimination models, and sustainability frameworks for investigative reporting.
Research Projects: Leads development of the Social Media Abuse Research Tool (SMART) funded by Google DNI. This application helps journalists investigate abuse, threats, and hate speech on Twitter through collaborations between journalism and computing specialists.
Scholarly Output: Author of Sport and Discrimination (Routledge 2017) and co-author of Sport, Racism and Social Media (Routledge 2015). Regular contributor to journals including Journalism, Digital Journalism, and Communication and Sport.
