John Mino serves as the Family Business Fellow and Lecturer in the Strategy, Management, and Operations department at the Busch School of Business, The Catholic University of America. He joined in 2021, contributing to curricular development for the family business co-specialization and leading the Family Business Consortium initiative. With over 30 years as an attorney, he specialized in advising private equity funds, venture capital firms, and closely held businesses on mergers, acquisitions, and corporate structuring. His expertise spans business financing, real estate matters, and cross-border corporate strategy.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service and Juris Doctor from Georgetown University. Prior to academia, he was a retired partner at Calfee, where he established the firm’s Washington, DC office. His professional experience includes counseling e-commerce startups, investors, and international companies on strategic operations.
John’s work integrates legal, financial, and managerial perspectives to address complex business challenges, particularly within family enterprises and private capital markets.
