John McDevitt

John T. McDevitt is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Biomaterials and Biomimetics at New York University College of Dentistry. He is a pioneer in programmable bio-nano-chip technologies for point-of-care diagnostics, focusing on oral cancer, cardiovascular disease, and infectious diseases. His work integrates microfluidics, AI, and biomarker discovery to create scalable diagnostic platforms.

Education:

Research Interests: Bioengineering, biomaterials, diagnostics, bio-MEMS, and programmable bio-nano-chip systems. His lab develops sensors that learn, enabling rapid, cost-effective diagnostics for oral lesions, cardiovascular conditions, and infectious diseases. Key innovations include cytomics-on-a-chip platforms for risk stratification and AI-driven predictive models.
