John M. Fairbrother

John M. Fairbrother is a Full Professor at the University of Montreal's Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, specializing in the study of pathogenic and zoonotic Escherichia coli (E. coli) in animals. His research focuses on understanding the influence of environmental factors on E. coli virulence and antimicrobial resistance, identifying novel fimbrial adhesins, and characterizing bacterial attachment mechanisms.

• Focuses on E. coli pathogenicity in animal populations
• Investigates virulence factors in post-weaning diarrhea in pigs
• Develops vaccination strategies for E. coli prevention
