John M. Conry, Pharm.D., is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Clinical Health Professions at St. John’s University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. He holds both a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and Doctor of Pharmacy from the same institution. Prior to his return to St. John’s in 2002, he served as founding faculty at Wilkes University’s Nesbitt School of Pharmacy and completed a primary care pharmacy residency at the VA Medical Center in Baltimore. His clinical practice focuses on underserved populations, particularly those experiencing homelessness, with expertise in HIV/AIDS, hypertension, diabetes, and health literacy. Dr. Conry has held leadership roles including Chair of the Department of Clinical Health Professions (2016–2021) and Interim Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (2022). He directs the Urban Institute, which addresses healthcare needs of urban indigent patients. His research emphasizes ambulatory care and pharmacist-driven interventions for underserved communities.
Dr. Conry’s publications span pharmacy education, HIV management, and interprofessional collaboration, appearing in journals like U.S. Pharmacist and American Journal of Pharmacy Education. He is a Fellow of the National Academies of Practice and holds certification as an HIV Expert Pharmacist. His work integrates Vincentian principles into healthcare education and service.
