Dr. John M Bailitz is a Professor of Emergency Medicine and Medical Education at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine. He serves as Vice Chair of Academic Affairs in the Department of Emergency Medicine and directs the System-Wide Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) program at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. Dr. Bailitz also co-directs the Center for Bedside Medicine and chairs the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Education Committee.

Dr. Bailitz's research focuses on Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in POCUS and innovative medical education techniques. His work includes AI-guided ultrasound interpretation, simulation-based mastery learning, and technical skills acquisition. Recent publications highlight AI integration in emergency diagnostics and pulmonary edema detection.
Scientific Awards include multiple "Procedural Instructor of the Year" honors, ACEP Ultrasound Section awards, and recurring teaching accolades from Northwestern University residency programs. He has led national residency education initiatives and directed critical training committees in emergency ultrasound.
Dr. Bailitz has served as a reviewer for journals like JAMA Open Access and Annals of EM, and currently directs a Scholars of Wellness program project. He is completing an MBA at Kellogg School of Management while raising four children with his spouse.
