John L. Roberts is Associate Professor of Psychology in the School of Social Sciences at the University of West Georgia. His scholarship examines theoretical foundations of psychology through philosophical, historical, and psychoanalytic frameworks.
Roberts' research explores consciousness studies, trauma ontology, and Lacanian psychoanalysis, with publications including 'Trauma and the Ontology of the Modern Subject'. His interdisciplinary background combines legal training (JD, LL.M) with literary studies (MA) before specializing in psychology (MA, PhD).
As a pre-candidate at the Lacan School of Psychoanalysis, he integrates clinical perspectives with critical examinations of subjectivity across historical contexts. His teaching spans existential psychology, hermeneutics, and advanced psychoanalytic theory.
