John K. Novak serves as Professor of Music Theory at Northern Illinois University's School of Music within the College of Visual and Performing Arts. Joining the faculty in 1996, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in music theory and aural skills with specialized expertise in twentieth-century repertoire.
