John J. Kelly

John J. Kelly is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Biology at Loyola University Chicago, within the School of Environmental Sustainability. He holds a PhD from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (1998). His research focuses on microbial ecology, particularly the structure and function of microbial communities in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, with an emphasis on anthropogenic effects on freshwater systems. He utilizes advanced molecular techniques to study environmental microbiology.
