John Humphrey Amuasi

Dr. John Humphrey Amuasi is a Senior Lecturer at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), affiliated with both the School of Public Health and School of Medicine and Dentistry. He leads the Global Health and Infectious Diseases Research Group at the Kumasi Center for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR), where he also coordinates the African Research Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (ARNTD) and the African Coalition for Epidemic Research, Response and Training (ALERRT) initiatives.

His research focuses on epidemiologic studies of malaria, snakebite, and other neglected tropical diseases in low-and-middle-income countries, with recent work on clinical characterization of COVID-19 in Africa, including phase III clinical trials. He employs a One Health approach to address global health systems and policy challenges.

Dr. Amuasi serves as technical advisor to the WHO, Africa CDC, IPBES, and World Bank, and co-chairs the Lancet One Health Commission. His expertise spans field epidemiology, health policy analysis, and clinical research coordination.
