معرفی
John Hoberg is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Wyoming, specializing in Organic Chemistry and Organic Materials. He received his B.S. from Jamestown College (1984), Ph.D. from Montana State University (1990), and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Colorado, Boulder (1990-1992).
Research Focus: The Hoberg group develops 2D Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) for membrane-based separations, including ion selectivity, protein filtration, and gas separation. Collaborations include Professors Jon Brant, Laura de Sousa Oliveira, and Bruce Parkinson.
- Current PhD students: Joe Ault, Felix Gboyero, Amjad Hossain
- Former advisees: Dr. Bhausaheb Kashinath Dhokale, Dr. Michael Wenzel, Dr. Valerie Kuehl, and others
Recent Publications: Two 2024 JACS papers on screw dislocation engineering and graphene functionalization, followed by a 2025 ACS Polymers Au article on computational pore design. Research themes span COF synthesis, pore tuning, and applications in water purification, ion transport, and gas separation.
Labs & Collaborations: The Hoberg Group (organic-2d.wixsite.com/hoberg) explores COF-based membranes through interdisciplinary efforts with synthetic organic chemists, chemical engineers, and materials scientists.
