John Finlay is a Professor at the School of Law, University of Glasgow, where he has taught since 1998. His roles include Chief Adviser of Studies in Law (since 2006) and teaching courses on European Legal History and the History of Scots Law.
Research Interests: Legal history, with a focus on the evolution of legal professions in Europe and the Americas, Scots law, private law, and intersections with human rights frameworks. His teaching covers topics such as civil and political rights, cultural rights, and war crimes.
