John F. Manley is a Professor in the Finance, Business Economics & Legal Studies Department at Iona College’s LaPenta School of Business. He specializes in finance education, corporate strategy, and international business. His teaching spans undergraduate courses like sports finance and portfolio management, as well as graduate courses on financial systems and corporate governance.
Research focuses on multinational evaluations, financial market dynamics, and pedagogical innovation. Notable works include studies on political risk in multinational firms, currency impacts on international investments, and Excel-based teaching tools. He has co-edited books on global leadership and contributed to journals like Journal of Multinational Financial Management and Managerial Finance.
Dr. Manley has held leadership roles in academic conferences, including serving as Conference Chair for the International Business and Economy Conference (IBEC) across multiple countries (India, Czech Republic, Mexico, Hawaii, France) from 2009–2013. As Chair Emeritus, he now serves as Treasurer for IBEC. He also chairs the Hagan-Iona/Ciber-UCONN IBE Annual Summer Symposium and sits on editorial boards for the Graziadio Business Report and Minho University’s International Business Program.
Professional affiliations include directing the local chapter of the Association of Financial Professionals and mentoring the Financial Management Association’s Honors Society at Iona College.
