John F. Beeler is a Professor in the Department of History at the University of Alabama, within the College of Arts & Sciences. He holds a PhD from the University of Illinois (1991). He is currently working on the project Alexander, Effie, and their Worlds: Life, Love, and Work in a Victorian Scots Gentry Family.
