John Collins is a Professor at Queens College, CUNY, specializing in cultural anthropology with a focus on Latin America and Brazil. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan (2003) and is affiliated with the CUNY Graduate Center and Columbia University’s Brazil Seminar. His research examines urban restoration, racial politics, and cultural heritage, particularly in Brazil.
