John Burrow

Dr. John Burrow serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of South Carolina, affiliated with the College of Arts and Sciences. He specializes in sentencing, race and crime, juvenile delinquency, children's rights, and law and justice.

Dr. Burrow's research focuses on juvenile gangs, judicial waiver mechanisms, elderly offender dynamics, and school violence. He teaches courses in Criminal Law, Race and Crime, Law and Criminal Justice Policy, and Law & Society.

His publications address intersections of demographic factors in sentencing, religious rights of inmates, and adolescent victimization responses. He chairs undergraduate studies for his department.
