معرفی
John Bullock is a Professor of Chemistry at Bennington College, where he has taught since 2002. His research focuses on the electrochemistry of transition metal photocatalysts and the development of sustainable energy conversion methods. Bullock is also deeply committed to reforming undergraduate chemical education by integrating general and organic chemistry curricula.
- Education:
- BA, State University of New York, Plattsburgh
- PhD, University of Minnesota
- Postdoctoral, University of Washington
Research Interests: Bullock's work investigates the reactivity of short-lived electrogenerated species, particularly in the context of solar energy applications. He explores how steric and electronic effects influence electrochemical processes in transition metal complexes and advocates for a unified approach to teaching chemistry without subdisciplinary boundaries.
Publication Trends: His research spans electrochemistry, inorganic chemistry, and sustainable energy. Key subfields include catalysis, solar fuel generation, ligand reactivity, and electrochemical mechanisms. He has also contributed to pedagogical reforms in chemical education.
Administrative Roles: Bullock served as Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs (2018-2021) and Acting Provost (2019-2021) before being appointed Dean of Faculty in July 2024 and Vice President for Academic Affairs in July 2025.
