معرفی
Dr. John Buckley is a Reader in Movement Biomechanics at the University of Bradford's School of Engineering, within the Faculty of Engineering & Digital Technologies. He specializes in biomechanical modeling to study movement adaptations in individuals with musculoskeletal abnormalities or sensory impairments. His work focuses on gait analysis, prosthetic design, and the impact of visual impairments on mobility. Notably, he has explored how correctable visual impairments affect balance in elderly populations and the efficacy of advanced prosthetic technologies. Dr. Buckley holds a Clinical Scientist registration and is a member of several professional societies.
Research Interests: Dr. Buckley’s research integrates motion analysis and biomechanical modeling to investigate locomotion adaptations. Key areas include:
- Visual and sensory influences on gait stability
- Prosthetic limb design and biomechanics
- Fall prevention strategies for older adults
- Application of AI and RF sensing in healthcare
Scientific Contributions: His recent work addresses stair negotiation safety, smartphone-based clinical assessments, and RF sensing for bone healing. He has published extensively across biomechanics, prosthetics, and clinical engineering.
Professional Recognition: He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and contributes to committees advancing biomechanical research.
