John Bowditch is Associate Professor and Director of the GRID Lab at Ohio University's Scripps College of Communication. He specializes in immersive media development, game design, and media entrepreneurship. His leadership has secured over $7.5M in research funding from NIH, DHS, and DoE. Co-author of The Power of Virtual Reality Cinema for Healthcare Training (2021), he develops VR applications for medical education and first responder training.
Research explores location-based VR systems and trauma simulation methodologies. Recent projects include FBI-recognized innovations in emergency response training.
