Dr. John Blackman is a Senior Lecturer in Wine Science at Charles Sturt University's School of Agricultural, Environmental and Veterinary Sciences. His work bridges small-lot winemaking experimentation with sensory analysis to quantify wine quality and consumer preferences, particularly focusing on Hunter Valley Semillon and Shiraz. He teaches courses in wine production, sensory science, and advanced oenology.
- Teaching: Coordinates WSC201, WSC210, and WSC310 while teaching WSC312 and WSC504
- Research: Investigates viticultural trials, winemaking interventions, and wine fault amelioration
