John Berndt is an Adjunct Professor (part-time) at Antioch University Los Angeles, teaching Master-level courses in Clinical Readiness, Practicum, and Couples Counseling. He is also a Wellness Clinician at the University of Southern California (USC), supporting medical residents, and a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Los Angeles. Previously, he served as Clinical Director of the Southern California Counseling Center (SCCC), guiding the organization through the pandemic. His expertise focuses on couples therapy, specializing in Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and attachment theory, with an emphasis on LGBTQ+ populations.
