John Benton is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Digital Art and Design at New York Tech's College of Arts & Sciences. An immersive storyteller at the forefront of spatial computing, he teaches film, emerging media, and game design both practically and theoretically at NYU, SVA, ICP, and NYIT. His work has been showcased globally in museums, film festivals, and XR (Extended Reality) events, earning him recognition and grants from prestigious institutions such as the NY Foundation for the Arts.
John's research and projects focus on Mobile & XR Design Systems, Spatial Storytelling, and Emerging Media. He has participated in events like the Tribeca Film Festival, Cuny Games Conference, NY Media Lab / New School Talks, and the Games For Change XR Hackathon, where he won accolades. His collaborations and presentations include work at MIT Hackathon, Voices of VR, BardoXR, and Google for Education initiatives.
