معرفی
Johannes Schwank is the James and Judith Street Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan and leads the Schwank Research Group. His work focuses on heterogeneous catalysis, gas sensors, and energy storage materials, with particular emphasis on structure-reactivity correlations in catalysts.
- Research Themes: Autothermal reforming of hydrocarbons, solid oxide fuel cells, automotive emission control (NOx traps, selective catalytic reduction), and biomass conversion.
- Methodologies: In-situ spectroscopy (FTIR, DRIFTS), electron microscopy (TEM, HRTEM), and kinetic analysis.
His group develops core@shell catalysts and nanotube materials, with applications in hydrogen production, CO2 methanation, and environmental sensing. Recent publications highlight advances in photocatalytic nitrophenol reduction, thermal stability of zeolite catalysts, and VOC oxidation. Awards include the Street Professorship and DOE-funded projects like Agreement DE-EE0006845.
