Prof. Dr. Johannes Myssok is a distinguished academic in Art History, currently holding a Professorship for Art History at the Düsseldorf Art Academy since 2009. His career includes roles as Vice-Rector (2013-2022) and Acting Rector (2022-2023) of the academy. He earned his doctorate from the University of Münster (1996) and habilitation at the University of Münster (2004). His research focuses on Renaissance and Neoclassical sculpture, particularly the work of Antonio Canova, and the history of art academies. He has held research positions at institutions like the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence and the German Study Center in Venice.
