Johanna Pott is a doctoral researcher at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, affiliated with the Institute of German Language and Linguistics. She is part of the DFG-funded project C07, examining how societal context and language ideologies influence register distinctions in multilingual settings, with a focus on Germany, Namibia, and Australia.
Her core research interests include language ideologies around multilingualism, German dialectology, linguistic ownership concepts, and the interplay between language and identity. Her work integrates sociolinguistic theory with empirical analysis of language use in diverse cultural contexts.
