Johanna P. Daily

Johanna P. Daily, M.D., M.S., is a Professor in both the Department of Medicine (Infectious Diseases) and the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She holds affiliations at Montefiore Weiler Hospital and Montefiore Medical Park in Bronx, NY. Her research focuses on Plasmodium falciparum pathogenesis, particularly the molecular mechanisms underlying severe malaria outcomes such as cerebral malaria, and explores adjunctive therapies using in vivo and in vitro models. Collaborations include studies on SARS-CoV-2 neurological impacts and emerging viral infections.

Dr. Daily's education includes a medical degree from SUNY Syracuse College of Medicine, a residency at Tufts New England Medical Center, and a fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. Her work combines genomic, metabolomic, and clinical approaches to identify host and parasite factors driving disease severity.
