Dr. Johanna Bruckner leads the research group on Hierarchically Structured Nanomaterials at the University of Stuttgart's Institute of Physical Chemistry. Her team uses lyotropic liquid crystals to fabricate functional nanomaterials with applications in energy storage and catalysis. Research includes developing mesoporous silica materials with ultra-large pores and chiral cellulose nanocrystal films.
Current projects investigate:
- LLC phase behavior of block copolymers
- Macro/mesoporous silica composites
- Silica-functionalized CNC films
Dr. Bruckner's group collaborates within the CRC 1333 consortium, focusing on structure-property relationships in templated nanomaterials and advancing sustainable material design principles.
