Professor Johan Hollander is a faculty member at the World Maritime University (WMU) in Sweden, holding the Nippon Foundation Chair of Sustainable Marine Management and Ocean Governance. He joined WMU in 2019 from Lund University and serves as Director of the PhD Programme. His work bridges applied science, focusing on global climate change and ecosystem-based sustainable marine management.

His research addresses coastal erosion mitigation through green infrastructure, such as seagrass meadow restoration, to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem services.
