Johan Bergström is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department at Lund University School of Aviation, with an academic appointment in the Division of Risk Management and Societal Safety. As Head of Department, he oversees the academic strategy and operational management of the Department for Aviation and Aeronautical Sciences, focusing on sustainable aviation, unmanned aviation systems, and aviation safety. He holds an Associate Professor title in Risk and Safety, reflecting his dual role in teaching and research.
His research explores organizational adaptation to non-normal situations, resilience discourse, and systems safety. He leads the MSc Program in Human Factors and Systems Safety, which educates professionals from safety-critical industries. Bergström has contributed to over 46 research outputs, including peer-reviewed articles on disaster response frameworks and resilience theory.
