Joeli Diemer

Joeli Diemer, DMSc, PA-C, serves as Assistant Professor and Academic Coordinator in the Physician Assistant Program within the Department of Family & Community Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine. She joined the institution as Adjunct Instructor for Clinical Anatomy and Integrated Sciences in 2020 before advancing to her current Assistant Professor role in 2022, while maintaining clinical practice at the SIU Center for Family Medicine in Carbondale specializing in urgent care and family medicine.

Her educational qualifications include a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) and Master's in Physician Assistant Studies from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, complemented by a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma.

Professional interests center on family medicine clinical practice, primary care delivery systems, and medical education pedagogy for physician assistant training programs, emphasizing integration of academic instruction with real-world clinical application.

Professional recognition includes membership in Pi Alpha National Honor Society, which honors academic excellence in the physician assistant profession.

As Academic Coordinator, Dr. Diemer oversees curriculum development and academic operations for the Physician Assistant Program, with demonstrated engagement in professional conferences including the 2023 American Academy of Physician Associates event in Nashville where she represented SIU alongside faculty, students, and alumni.
