Joel Frederickson is a Professor of Psychology at Bethel University and serves as Associate Dean of Institutional Assessment and Accreditation. He previously held roles including Adjunct Instructor in the College of Adult and Professional Studies and contributed to programs in Human Services, Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership, and Doctor of Nursing Practice. Frederickson joined Bethel in 1996.
Education: B.A. in Psychology from Bethel College (1989), M.A. in Educational Psychology (1992), and Ph.D. in Educational Psychology/Social Psychology (1997), both from the University of Minnesota.
Research focuses on the psychological impact of apologies and longitudinal student development in cognition, beliefs, and spirituality. His work bridges social psychology and educational outcomes, with notable contributions in healthcare informatics and institutional assessment methodologies.
