Joe Sinfield is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Purdue University's Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering, where he serves as Director of the College of Engineering Innovation and Leadership Studies Program. This program encompasses an undergraduate Innovation and Leadership Minor, graduate-level research on innovation patterns, and campus-wide service initiatives.

Before academia, he accumulated 17 years of experience in innovation studies, including 6 years at McKinsey & Company in corporate strategy and technology management, followed by 12 years as Senior Partner at Innosight, LLC, a global innovation consulting firm.
