Joe Moore is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), where he also earned his Ph.D. and M.S. degrees. He previously taught high school science through Teach For America and holds a BA in Biology and French from Wabash College. His research focuses on active learning strategies, climate-resilient environmental systems, and engineering education equity, particularly supporting marginalized students. Moore is passionate about interdisciplinary approaches to education and has been recognized with a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship and National Academy of Sciences/Engineering Science Ambassadorship.
