Joe Duffy is a Professor at the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work at Queen's University Belfast, affiliated with The Senator George J Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice and the Centre for Inclusion, Transformation and Equality (CITE). His research focuses on service user involvement, social justice, and the intersection of social work with political conflict. He has led groundbreaking projects such as the 2019 'Voices of Social Work through the Conflict in Northern Ireland' study, funded by NIASW and NISCC, and pioneered the integration of trauma survivors (e.g., 9/11 survivors) into social work education through his Fulbright Scholarship work at NYU.
