Joe D. Seltz is a Senior Professor of Practice at the C. T. Bauer College of Business, University of Houston, within the Department of Accountancy & Taxation. With over two decades of experience in public accounting and financial reporting, he specializes in GAAP, GAAS, SEC Rules and Regulations, and auditing. His career spans leadership roles at Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young, and he has contributed to the AACSB accreditation process and achieved STEM designation for the Master of Accounting Degree Program at Bauer College.
- Education: CPA, CIA, CFE, and CMA professional certifications; Duquesne University (Pittsburgh) graduate with honors; Member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
His research interests focus on matters involving public accounting and financial reporting, with expertise in COSO, PCAOB, and advising on SEC enforcement matters. He has served as Chair of the Graduate Accounting Curriculum Committee (2014–2019) and played a pivotal role in global consulting projects, including privatization initiatives in China.
