Joe Boblick

Joe Boblick is an Interim Full-Time Lecturer at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design (MIAD), where he has taught since 1996. He holds an MFA in Painting and Drawing from UW-Milwaukee. His artistic practice focuses on sculptural work using plaster and casting techniques, honed through restoration projects for historic buildings such as the Mansion Hill Inn, Basilica of St. Josaphat, Mitchell Building, Central Library, and Stone Manor. His art has been exhibited across Southeastern Wisconsin and is featured in private collections globally.

Research interests include blending traditional sculptural techniques with restoration arts, emphasizing historic preservation and ornamental plastering. Notable achievements include the 2014 Merit Award for his painting Fish 8 in the Wisconsin Biennial. His work integrates artistic creation with hands-on restoration expertise, bridging academic teaching and practical craftsmanship.
