Dr. Jodi Warman Chardon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Ottawa and holds appointments at The Ottawa Hospital and Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI). She serves as Co-Director of the Centre for Neuromuscular Disease and Director of the Ottawa Hospital Neuromuscular Centre. Her roles include Associate Scientist in Neuroscience and Clinical Epidemiology at OHRI, and Neurologist at The Ottawa Hospital.
Education: MD/Neurology residency (University of Ottawa), MSc (Queen's University), PhD (McGill University), and certifications in neurogenetics and clinical neurophysiology (EMG). She completed clinical and research fellowships at McGill and the University of Ottawa.
Research focuses on molecular basis of rare neuromuscular diseases using NGS, MRI, and genomic tools to identify novel genes (e.g., LGMD2). Collaborations span 60+ researchers in the uOttawa Centre for Neuromuscular Disease. Clinical interests include improving diagnostics through imaging and biomarkers.
Awards: Tier 2 Canada Research Chair. Active in translational research, leading clinical trials and diagnostic pipelines for genetic neuromuscular disorders.
