Jodi D. Hoffman, MD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Boston University's Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. She serves as Chief of Medical Genetics at Boston Medical Center and Medical Director of the BU Master’s Program in Genetic Counseling. Her work focuses on clinical genetics, genetic counseling education, and research in Jewish genetic diseases, hereditary cancers, connective tissue disorders, and the 22q11.2 deletion syndrome. Dr. Hoffman received her MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed pediatric residency at Yale Children's Hospital, followed by medical genetics training at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Her research interests include optimizing genetic testing protocols, prenatal care genetics, and ethical issues in genetic testing. She collaborates with the Framingham Heart Study on secondary finding disclosure and contributes to ACMG guidelines. Dr. Hoffman's over 30 peer-reviewed publications span genetic screening methodologies, syndrome characterization, and clinical education.
Awards: 2020 Distinguished Faculty of the Month, Boston University School of Medicine.
Service: Member of BUMG Work Harmony Committee and ACMG Program Committee. Active in genetic counseling education and clinical practice improvement initiatives.
