Jochen Neher

Jochen Neher is a Professor at Technische Hochschule Ulm, affiliated with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Automotive Engineering. He serves as Head of the Laboratory for Structural Mechanics and Acoustics alongside Prof. Bernd Graf, contributes to academic governance as a Senate member, and represents the dual study program per the Ulm Model. His research spans technical mechanics, vibrations, acoustics, and simulation via FEM/MKS.

• Research Focus: Vibrations and acoustics (noise, sound radiation, structure-borne/airborne sound, NVH, engine vibrations/acoustics, experimental modal analysis, vibration isolation); simulation (FEM, MKS); measurement and validation.
• Teaching: Technical mechanics (statics, strength of materials, dynamics), vibrations and acoustics, and finite element method.
• Labs & Institutes: Laboratory for Structural Mechanics and Acoustics, Institute of Vehicle Systems Technology, dual study program at Ulm University of Applied Sciences.
