Joanne Lee

Joanne Lee is a Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design at Sheffield Hallam University's Visual Communication department, where she teaches across undergraduate to doctoral levels. Her academic practice uniquely bridges creative production and scholarly inquiry through her independent publication series, the Pam Flett Press.

Her research interests focus on the aesthetics of everyday urban life, particularly 'terrain vague' (ambiguous derelict sites between nature and civilization), pareidolia (seeing faces in ordinary objects), and the creative potential of mundane materials like chewing gum on city streets.
