Joanna Wu is the Susanna and Evans Y. Lam Professor of Accounting at Simon Business School, University of Rochester. Her research focuses on financial disclosure, regulatory frameworks, and the behavior of financial institutions. She has held editorial roles at the Journal of Accounting and Economics and has been recognized multiple times on the Simon School Dean’s Teaching Honor Roll.
Professor Wu’s expertise spans corporate financial reporting, securities regulation, and cross-border accounting standards. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with empirical analyses of real-world financial markets. Notable research themes include the impact of mandatory disclosures, the dynamics of bank risk opacity, and the effects of regulatory exemptions on small firms.
