Dr. Joanna Luft is the Department Head of the Department of English and Creative Writing at the University of Windsor. She holds a B.A. and M.A. from Wilfrid Laurier University and a Ph.D. from McMaster University. Her research focuses on medieval English mystical literature, allegory, and romance, with particular attention to how literary form and imagery convey meaning.
Her current work examines Julian of Norwich's A Revelation of Love and plans to extend this analysis to William Langland's Piers Plowman. She has also explored intertextual connections between medieval texts like The Romance of the Rose and modern works by authors such as Dionne Brand and Alice Munro. Her scholarship bridges medieval and contemporary literary studies, emphasizing how textual form shapes thematic expression.
