Joanna Laast is a Junior Research Fellow at the Ragnar Nurkse Department of Innovation and Governance, School of Business and Governance, Tallinn University of Technology, a position she has held since September 2024.
Her educational background includes:
- MA in Technology Governance and Sustainability from Tallinn University of Technology (2022-2024)
- BA in Journalism and Communication from the University of Tartu (2016-2019)
Joanna's research centers on sustainability transitions, with specific interests in sustainable mobility (evidenced by her Master's thesis on young consumers' views of shared mobility in Tallinn) and green economy. She is currently researching pathways for Estonia's economic transition to sustainability as part of the project Green Transition Possibilities for the Estonian economy (2025-2026), funded by the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications with 174,151 EUR under Principal Investigator Erkki Karo.
