Joanna Farr

Dr. Joanna Farr is a Lecturer in Psychology at Birkbeck University of London's School of Psychological Sciences. Her research focuses on mental health experiences of young people, particularly using qualitative methods like Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), longitudinal studies, and visual methods. She has held roles at the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families and Roehampton University.

• Adolescent mental health and emotional wellbeing
• Psychosis and bipolar disorder experiences
• Qualitative research methodologies

Her current projects include a Wellcome Trust-funded study on adolescent girls' emotional management strategies and a collaboration with film experts to create short films based on video diaries. She also investigates early intervention for bipolar disorder using IPA.
