Joan Mahoney is a Lecturer at Southampton Law School, University of Southampton, since 2016. Her academic focus spans Public Law, Family Law, and Legal History, with particular emphasis on reproductive technology and British/US Constitutional Law. She serves as Programme Lead for the Juris Doctor (JD) and Accelerated Students, supervises dissertations, and provides personal academic tutoring.

Current projects include a comparative study of parenting concepts in the UK and US and a second book analyzing civil liberties restrictions during the Cold War.
