Prof. Dr. Joachim Schroeder is a Professor of Learning Disabilities Pedagogy and Inclusive Education at the University of Hamburg's Faculty of Education. His work focuses on pedagogical approaches for individuals with disabilities, migration, refugee integration, and social equity. He holds positions at the Department of School and Primary School Pedagogy (EW 2) and has held visiting professorships in Iran, Indonesia, and El Salvador. His research includes international collaborations on inclusive education, refugee transitions, and disability rights.
Education: Born in 1961 in southern Germany, he studied primary school education, intercultural pedagogy, and earned a diploma in education from the University of Tübingen. His career includes research in Chile, Bolivia, Mexico, and extended stays in Iran and Indonesia. He habilitated in 2001 with a study on school development in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg.
