JoAnn Patel is Professor and Program Director in the Division of Communication & Creative Media at Champlain College, where she teaches courses in Animation and Game Art. She holds an MFA in Computer Arts from Florida Atlantic University and a BFA in Environmental Design from Parsons School of Design. Her creative practice centers on hard surface modeling, game environment design, and Unreal Engine integration.
Research interests include:
- Procedural 3D modeling workflows
- Real-time rendering techniques
- Game engine applications in film production
- Texture and material creation pipelines
Her animated films have screened internationally, with 'Casandra The Chameleon' receiving the grand prize at the 2003 Homestead Animated Film Festival. She maintains active industry connections through freelance work for major media networks and corporations.
