Jo Tondeur is an Assistant Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (MILO) specializing in instructional design, educational innovation, and ICT integration. His research focuses on teacher professional development, behavioral science, and the social implications of educational technologies. He has collaborated globally, including with institutions in Australia, the Netherlands, Norway, and Canada. Key projects include Digital school: DigCompEduMa and iSTEM, addressing educational frameworks and STEM didactics. Tondeur has received awards such as the 2019 Best Conference Paper and 2016 Outstanding Paper Award. His work spans over 150 publications, emphasizing themes like AI competency frameworks, blended learning readiness, and pandemic-era educational shifts.
Research interests include teacher readiness for digital tools, contextual knowledge in technology adoption, and equity in educational technology access.
